Mike and Megan’s Wedding – Chateau Lake Louise

SWEET OCCASIONS

With dazzling orange tiger lilies, hundreds of thousands of Turquoise rose petals lining the ivory aisle, and tea lights in frosted votives, Angela from Sweet Occasions Banff coordinated one of “the most beautiful wedding ceremonies ever to take place in the Sun Room at Chateau Lake Louise,” say staff members of The Chateau.

The Sun Room then underwent a dramatic transformation into the Reception room for the celebration of Mike and Megan’s marriage. Orange and Turquoise, the couple’s favorite colors, was replicated in the lighting in the room. The centerpieces were filled with cracked glowing ice overflowing with tiger lilies, bears grass and a cascading dendrobium orchid atop each guest table. A sweetheart table for Mike and Megan was covered with chocolate organza table cloths and chocolate silk chair covers were accented with…orange of course! Gold chargers created the perfect base for cream napkins all of which were surrounded with glowing frosted votives. In the center of the room as a tribute to Mike & Megan`s nick name `M&M,` a rotating gobo in the shape of an M&M candy lit the dance floor which was a perfect match to their custom M&M favours for each guest. YuMMy!

Blue Dress Bride!

Snap Photography12_16_10

I love this wedding submitted by Ashley at Snap Photography!  Kendra, in her bold colored dress and Jay wearing fabulous sneakers are ultra cool and their unique style is evident throughout these images.

Kendra and Jay’s ceremony was held at Central United Church in Calgary and Jay along with his posse, came moshing down the aisle to rock music. Jay and the majority of the groomsmen,  are from a local band called Somastate. Kendra’s inspiration for her fabulous blue dress comes from her love of the Dallas Cowboys football team. I love that she had her gorgeous bridesmaids in short white dresses. En route to the ceremony and after, the large bridal party was driven around in a big yellow school bus lent to them from a friend – what fun! Enjoy this great post and thanks Ashley for sharing!

vintage mountain wedding

vintage_mountain_wedding_shoot_tara_whittaker_01

Are you throwing a mountain wedding with a vintage flare?  Then this styled wedding shoot is brimming with ideas just for you.  Calgary Wedding Photographer Tara Whittaker began with an idea - a dress of vintage lace and quaint mountain cabins shot against the blue-green waters of Lake Louise.  These visual snapshots were melded together into an inspiration board that really represented the flavour of the project.   An inspiration board is a great way to pull together and visualize all of the ideas you love.  Tara then collaborated with a group of talented Calgary wedding vendors to take this inspiration and make it a reality.  Each vendor used the inspiration board as a jumping off point and did what they do best, create.  The final result is a collection of inviting images, oozing with vintage charm, while showcasing Alberta’s natural beauty.  For more details and images, read all about it here http://www.tarawhittaker.com/2010/10/15/lake-louise-wedding-inspiration-paradise-lodge-shoot

melissa + jesse real wedding by f8 photography

MELISSA_JESSE

f8 photography | the wedding planner | Hotel Arts

Melissa & Jesse met in school. Spend any time with these two and you can see the love they feel for each other and the joy they feel for life! They’re fun, adventurous and love to laugh. They also love to travel – anywhere that includes a beach or a spa and spent several weeks in Italy on their honeymoon. In their spare time they enjoy hiking, shopping and eating out. They’re cool and eclectic!

Their colour palette needed to be wild and fun and the overall feel needed to be eclectic but still elegant to properly reflect Melissa & Jesse’s personalities. The Wedding Planner decided to do colour blocking – 1/3 of the tables were teal, 1/3 in fuchsia and 1/3 in deep purple. They were tone on tone, with flowers, napkins and sashes on the chiavari chairs all in the same hue. All the guests thought it looked just like them! The invitations were fun & crazy and matched all of the wedding day printing.

eulalia + nils real wedding real wedding by great events and absolute photography

Eulalia and Nils met four years ago when she began working for GreatEvents, Nils’ family company. With Nils’ family being in the wedding business, planning the grand day was in some respects easy, yet even more challenging than any other wedding GreatEvents ever held.

Every detail of this wedding was a part of what the bride and groom enjoys: modern design, great food, good music and drinks. A colourful non-traditional wedding with a modern lounge theme was chosen with fashionable aspects like damask patterns and crystal chandeliers. The reception was held in a large tent surrounded by an incredible prairie view at Anderson Ranch, just outside of Calgary. The atmosphere the couple wanted to achieve was easy going, a place to party and have a good time. The food was displayed at food stations where the chefs cooked live in front of the guests as a form of entertainment serving world class cuisine on small plates.  This trendy luxurious lounge effect was enjoyed by all the guests as they danced the night away to the live band “Livin’ in Swing.”
