This beautiful wedding was submitted by Nicole Halverson Photography who was able to capture the true essence of a rural Alberta Wedding. Kerrie was crowned Stampede Queen and grew up in the foothills in the south of Calgary.
“Lane proposed to me on Sept 26th 2009. It was during the 2010 Calgary Stampede Queen and Princess competition. I was busy all day helping out the contestants at the riding competition and the formal dinner portion. I agreed to spend the night at Lane’s house in High River but that night I didn’t arrive at his place till 11 o’clock. When I arrived at his door, Lane grabbed my bag as usual. He allowed me to walk ahead of him and as I was getting closer to his room I noticed that his door was glowing. I looked back at him and he had his head down so I continued to walk towards his room. As I opened his door I was astonished by the one hundred tea light candles that were lit and the rose peddles that were placed all over his room. I turned to Lane and he had the ring box in his hand and he asked me to open it. As I looked up to him in shock he took my hand and placed the ring on my finger and asked me to marry him. And of course I said yes! We spent the rest of the night drinking champagne and talking about our future. Lane would say our wedding theme was “Kerri” but I would say, small town love.” A wedding fit for a queen – thank you for sharing!
