Calgary Wedding Photography Corrina Walker fetaures Leah and Andrew

A&L-1

Thank you to Calgary Wedding Photographer, Corrina Walker for submitting this beautiful wedding!

Leah and Andrew first met at the University of Calgary in early 2007 through a mutual friend.  When they initially met, Andrew introduced himself only to have Leah say, “Hi, my name is Leah but I will probably never see you again.”  Andrew being of competitive nature took this as a challenge and pursued a friendship with Leah. Throughout their time together at the university they often frequented the campus Starbucks, had many in-depth discussions and always found a way to share laughter. This friendship bloomed into a relationship in October 2007. Though Leah was now living in Lethbridge, they spent nearly every weekend commuting back and forth to each other. In September 2009 Andrew moved down to Lethbridge (absolute proof he loved Leah). Since that time, they have grown immensely as a couple and have had both hardships and joyous occasions together.  Andrew and Leah share a love of learning, physical activity, cultural events, music, and family time together. When reflecting back on their wedding, Leah and Andrew remember their excitement of becoming man and wife, the special moments they shared together and the hard work of each of their vendors to make their day perfect. Every detailed was taken care of and the couple felt it contributed to the beauty of each location and certainly reduced their stress. Their wedding represented who they are as a couple; fun, charming and modern and the only thing they wish is to re-live the happiness and the beauty of that day!

Their service was at Knox United church and the reception was held at the Glencoe Golf and Country club.  Though initially attracted to the well-manicured grounds and the tall windows in the reception hall, the staff and meals provided met the Glencoe’s excellent reputation of high quality, and they still get compliments about the fabulous food. They incorporated a professional candy-bar for favours and had elegant arrangements of orchids around the room and as their centerpieces.

Says Leah and Andrew, “Our favourite part of the day, was when we took 5 minutes alone to walk and embrace the moment.  Though it was a busy day, those 5 minutes were the first where we were able to share being husband and wife together alone.”

“Corrina (Corrina Walker Photography) was our photographer; she was personable, professional and provided us with photographs that captured our happiness and passion during the day.  For us, photography was an important area to focus our attention to-as these will allow you to “re-live” each moment of your wedding day.”

Calgary Wedding Photographer Cedna Photography features Debra and Cyril

Cedna_Collage

Debra and Cyril were introduced 5 years ago at the HIFI club by a mutual DJ friend. (that DJ also played at their wedding!). They were great friends for about a year before they officially started dating. How did Cyril proposed? It was a Sunday afternoon at home. They had just finished their regular morning routine and he proposed in the living room. After the fact he confessed that he was going to plan an elaborate surprise, however did not in the end because it just isn’t who they are individually or as a couple. The best times for them are the Sundays spent at home just hanging out and enjoying each others company and Cyril ultimately wanted the proposal to be a true reflection of that. Debra’s favorite thing about Cyril is that he is the best person she knows. He’s kind, generous and patient. When she asked Cyril what his favorite thing about Debra was he said  “ That’s impossible to answer, there isn’t one thing about you that stands out. I love everything about you.”

Calgary Wedding Photographer Kristy Reimer Photography features Tara and Jeremiah

KristyReimer

Calgary Wedding Photographer Kristy Reimer Photography sent in this stylish wedding from last August. Beautiful!

“I met Tara and Jeremiah at Tara’s sister’s wedding in 2010, so when Tara contacted me, I was excited to shoot their wedding too!  Wedding guests ooh’ed and aww’ed at the fabulous mountain view backdrop at Silvertip for their outdoor ceremony.  I loved the way the coral bridesmaid dresses pop against the pristine mountain water, and I also loved that the maid of honour wore gold, which complimented the coral nicely and gave her a special honour.  The groom and groomsmen were dressed in style with their top hats and canes and when you are dressed in style, you must ride in style!  Tara and Jeremiah were chauffeured by Alpine Limo’s 1956 Rolls Royce.”

Calgary Wedding Photographer Corrina Walker features Lisa and Mike

M&L-4

As born and raised Calgarians, Mike and Lisa couldn’t wait to plan the wedding of their dreams in the city where all the magic happened.  Stephen Avenue has always held a special for the couple, as it was where they first met 9 years ago and then reconnected more recently at V-Bar.

So there was no question that they wanted to have many of their photos in the heart of downtown Calgary.  “Strolling Stephen Avenue and taking pictures at some of our favorite spots captured exactly who we are.  A last stop at V-Bar to get a quick picture where our love story was re-ignited was the icing on the cake and a picture that will never leave our mantle. ” Calgary Wedding Photographer, Corrina Walker captured that perfectly.

The couple say their day was perfect, starting with a traditional ceremony at the church Lisa was raised in and ending with a party the couple had always wanted, in the heart of downtown Calgary at The Metropolitan Centre.

If you ask Mike his favorite part of the wedding without hesitation he will say the basketball hoop!  Mike grew up playing basketball and still has a huge love for the game, so it was no question that they would have a regulation basketball hoop in the middle of the dance floor.  Guests showed off their skills all  night in order to have the couple share a smooch! Now that’s a two pointer idea!

Love those shoes!

Calgary Wedding Photographer – Paparazzi Photography features Carmen and John

img_6476_0-0

Carmen and John met on Dec 27th on a job site in Vulcan, Alberta. Carmen had a boyfriend at the time but when she met John she knew right away that the other guy was NOT the right one! After spending a fun-filled New Years Eve party together, Carmen had to drive John’s brand new f150 (as Carmen says “NEW, like less than a month old) as John had a bit too much to drink. Well, it seems that Carmen managed to put it into reverse and backed right into another car! Carmen says, ” The joke is still that he kept me around to pay for the damages. He didn’t talk to me for 3 days after I hit that car. When i dumped my boyfriend a few weeks later I texted John and told him and he asked me out.”
Carmen also says she was the first girl John introduced to his family since high school and they still can’t believe he made her pay for half the damages. They got engaged in Jamaica in May 2010, so I guess his strategy worked.

About the engagement, “It was the most romantic thing John has and probably will ever do. He organized a sunset candle private dinner on the dock. He made me so mad before dinner because he was rushing me to get ready, he was telling me he was starving. We walked down to the dock and he handed me a rose. we sat down and he never even made it to the appys before he got down on one knee all teary eyed.  John is the worst secret keeper and he had managed to keep this a secret for a month. He even asked my parents for permission!” Way too cute! Enjoy the fabulous wedding photographs that Karen from Paparazzi Photography captured of their special day.
