“He proposed on my birthday in January. By the time we returned from going out for dinner I was certain another occasion had passed wherein he wasn`t going to propose, however he ended up putting the ring on the dog`s collar. The dog was not cooperating and finally he got frustrated and purposely put the dog between us with the ring facing out, then got down on one knee when I noticed. I`m sure the story could be made much more poetic sounding than that, but those are the meat and potatoes of the story!!”

Real Wedding Meghan and Bryce submitted by Darren Roberts Photography

Happy Friday and as this is the last Real Wedding post prior to Christmas, we at Calgary Bride would like to wish you the happiest of holidays and best wishes for a healthy and jolly new year. I know many of you are planning your Weddings in 2012 so be sure to let us know how it goes so we can share with the rest of our community. Happy Planning!

I remember the days not too long ago when friends of mine would say that there was no way they would on-line date. Well, times are changing and many have since changed their tune. It is exciting to know that many of those who were adamant not to date on-line or who were apprehensive in the beginning are actually now in a successful committed relationship and they met…on-line! This post is one of those great stories.

Meghan and Bryce met via eharmony during the summer of 2009. They were both unsure of what to expect with online dating, but were thrilled they gave it a go. After two weeks of online chatting Meghan and Bryce met for a walk and…the rest is history…as the story goes!
A year and a half later they made the decision to get married. (This happened in their vehicle in the midst of a major snowstorm while on their way to the East Kootenays for a friend’s wedding.)
Meghan says, “Picking our venue was extremely easy. We had dined at Bonterra many times before. We loved the food, the staff and the atmosphere and knew it would be the perfect place for two “foodies” to exchange vows. We we met our wedding photographer, Darren Roberts, through a mutual friend. He did both our engagement photos and wedding day and we were so pleased with the quality of the shots taken during our engagement session we just knew he would capture our special day perfectly.
Without sounding too cliche our wedding day was one of the best days of our lives. Everyone that mattered to us attended and we partied the night away in one of our favourite Calgary restaurants. What more could a couple ask for?!?!
